Hardware
The NetVanta 1224 and 1224ST rackmount switches support 24 10/100Base-T Ethernet ports with auto-rate, auto-duplexing, and MDI/MDI-X sensing. The NetVanta 1224ST also supports two 10/100/1000Base-T or Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) ports for copper or fiber high-speed uplink or stacking capability. The 1224ST can support up to 16 units stacked together and easily managed with a single IP address for the entire stack.

The NetVanta 1000 Series includes managed Layer 2 Fast Ethernet and Power over Ethernet (PoE) switches. This series includes the NetVanta 1224 24-port Fast Ethernet switch, the NetVanta 1224ST 24-port Fast Ethernet switch with dual Gigabit uplinks, the NetVanta 1224 PoE switch, and the NetVanta 1224ST PoE switch with dual Gigabit uplinks. The NetVanta 1000 Series uses the ADTRAN® Operating System (OS) to provide standards-based, non-blocking switching, support for Virtual LANs (VLANs), Quality of Service (QoS) for applications such as VoIP, stacking, Link Aggregation, advanced management and remote con?guration capability, and much more. These products feature a web-based Graphical User Interface (GUI) with step-by-step con?guration wizards and are offered at a price point up to 55 percent less than comparable edge switches.

The NetVanta 1000 Series is a family of integrated switch - router platforms and standalone managed Fast Ethernet switches. This series features four unique all-in-one network access platforms that combine LAN/WAN functionality into a single 1U chassis: the NetVanta 1224R switch - router, the NetVanta 1224STR switch - router with Gigabit uplink, the NetVanta 1224R PoE Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch - router, and the NetVanta 1224STR PoE switch - router with dual Gigabit uplinks. Each platform provides everything needed for branch of?ce connectivity, combining the functionality of ?ve devices for the price of one. These products combine a 24-port Fast Ethernet Layer 2 switch with a full-featured IP router, modular WAN interface, stateful inspection ?rewall, and optional VPN capability.
